The municipality of La Rambla has an area of 137 km2 and an altitude of 358 meters above sea level. This area represents 12% of the total area of the Campiña Sur, which also includes the following municipalities: Aguilar de la Frontera, Fernán Núñez, Montalbán, Montemayor, Montilla, Monturque, Moriles, Puente-Genil, San Sebastián de los Ballesteros and Santaella. La Rambla, with 7508 inhabitants, is part of the Campiña Sur region, which also includes the town of Montalbán with 4429 residents. From the 137 Km2 that constitute the totality of the municipality, 131 Km2 are registered as crops: olive trees, cereals and vines. The climate can be defined as “Mediterranean” with a certain tendency to “continentality”. The town is located 34 kilometers from the capital, Córdoba. The constructions related to the elaboration of wine and other agro-alimentary products such as flour also have a great presence, as well as other artisan and industrial centers related to ceramics, bronze, copper or furniture. The socio-cultural, physical-natural and economic context in which an educational center is placed is essential to carry out the teaching-learning process, so that the knowledge of these references will allow us to achieve the objectives of quality and equity demanded by the society in which we live. This center is bilingual since 2008/09. It is attached to the I.E.S. of Montalbán “Maestro Eloy Vaquero” for those who want to study “Bachillerato”. We also have two primary schools attached: CEIP Alfar which is also bilingual up to sixth grade and CEIP Maestro Romualdo Aguayo López which is not bilingual. |
